Beginner Guide

Learn how the squad, classes, abilities, weapons, and mission flow fit together before committing to a build. The Beginner Guide prioritizes verified mechanics and marks anything still awaiting current-version testing.

Classes and Builds

Compare Marauder, Duelist, Machinist, Hunter, Medic, and Specialist in the Classes Guide. Specialist is an endgame class that can mix major and minor abilities from available classes; detailed rankings remain test-dependent rather than being presented as launch-day fact.

Weapons and Combat

Use the Weapons Database to connect weapon types, Fire Modes, Augments, Weapon Traits, classes, and tested builds. Damage values and recommendations are versioned so a balance patch cannot silently make an old table look current.

Missions and Horde Mode

The Missions Database will organize objectives, threats, difficulty notes, and squad preparation. The Horde Mode Guide covers the confirmed dedicated maps and escalating waves without inventing wave counts or reward tables.

Choose your class

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has five upgraded core classes—Marauder, Duelist, Machinist, Hunter, and Medic—plus the customizable Specialist. Each class page will connect official abilities, perks, weapon access, builds, patch changes, solo testing, co-op roles, and Horde performance.

There is no unsupported S-to-D tier list on the homepage. “Best” depends on mode, patch, difficulty, build, and squad composition. Use All Classes for confirmed information and the future Best Class Guide for a transparent testing method.

Quick answers

When was the game released?

Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S launched on August 25, 2026. The exact Switch 2 date remains Unconfirmed; read the release-date guide for the platform table.

Is it crossplay?

Yes. The official website confirms cross-platform co-op and cross-platform voice chat. Exact invitation steps still require platform-by-platform documentation in the crossplay guide.

Can it be played solo?

Steam and Xbox list Single Player. AI teammate behavior, offline support, pausing, and solo access to every mode still need reproducible tests tracked in the single-player guide.

Is it first person?

The game is presented as a third-person shooter. No verified first-person camera option was found; see the camera and perspective guide.

Is it on Game Pass?

Catalog inclusion is Unconfirmed. Xbox states that online console multiplayer requires an eligible subscription, but that is not the same as including the game license. The Game Pass page explains the distinction.

Platform guides

  • Steam: PC requirements, achievements, controller information, and Steam Deck status.
  • PS5: PlayStation pricing, PS5 Pro Enhanced status, and performance facts still requiring tests.
  • Xbox: online co-op, Play Anywhere, 60 fps+ label, Dolby Atmos, and subscription requirements.
  • Switch 2: conflicting reports preserved with Unconfirmed status.

Editions and buying information

The verified US base price is $49.99. Xbox lists the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition at $69.99, while Steam displayed a $69.98 bundle composed of the base game and $19.99 Premium Upgrade. Premium includes Herk's Mondo Pest Pack and Ripley's Hive Exterminator Pack according to Xbox.

Compare the current price, Premium Edition, and historical pre-order status before purchasing. Store data is dynamic and always displays a verification date.

How this wiki verifies information

Every important claim is labeled as Official, In-game tested, Community reported, or Unconfirmed. Official websites, stores, announcements, patch notes, and game data support core facts. Reproducible tests support mechanics and recommendations; community reports identify issues but do not become universal conclusions.

The wiki does not use competitor pages as evidence, turn forum guesses into facts, or fill missing fields with plausible numbers. Visit verified updates for changes affecting classes, perks, weapons, performance, and existing guides.
